It is with great sadness that I have to advise you that the Trustees of the Old Albanian Sports Association have decided to close the OA Health & Fitness Club.
The club has now stopped taking on new members and will cease activities at on Friday 17 October. All members are asked to contact their banks to cancel existing standing orders and direct debits so that no payments are made after Monday 22 September. As membership is payable monthly in advance this will mean that the majority of members’ subscriptions will end on, or before, the closing date. All members can continue to use the gym’s facilities to that date. Those members who have paid subscriptions in advance beyond 17 October will receive a full refund.
Members will automatically have social membership of OA Sport until 31 December 2009 at no charge. This will enable members to continue to use the bar and restaurant facilities for themselves and their guests and by using the cash option on the card obtain a 10% discount against bar purchases. The bar is open every evening, except Friday, and from midday at week-ends and there is a programme of social events, such as the very popular Thursday buffet supper club held on the first Thursday of every month.
Whilst indoor training facilities will no longer be available, the existing running groups are invited to continue and the field sport changing rooms are available for their use. It is also proposed to start outdoor circuit training on one or two evenings a week and at the week-ends.
On behalf of the Trustees, I would like to thank you for your support of the OA Health & Fitness Club, we have enjoyed providing the facility over these past 6 years and we do hope that you will continue to enjoy the other sporting and social facilities at Woollams. OA Rugby, OA Cricket, OA Tennis, OA Soccer and OA Netball always welcome new members either as players or supporters and more details can be found on our website at www.oasport.com.
Yours sincerely
Andrew Mills-Baker
Chairman, OA Sport
